A couple of years ago I had months of agrovation with O2, total chaos, in the end they paid me compensation but really the amount of time I spent on it was not worth it.

I have a bad feeling that it is all going to start again. I pay my monthly bill for 2 phones on one account by internet banking, I do not and never have had a standing order or direct debit for this payment. All invoice are paid up to date, nothing outstanding and a bill due in the next few days.

I ahve today received a letter saying 'we recently tried to claim a Direct debit/Credit card payment..' 'Unfortunately our request for payment has been rejected and as a result your business account is now in arrears' then the usual thing about if I don't you will be cut off.

'Please contact our payment team on 0800 9777027' phoned this number and there is a recorded message saying phone the number on the front of your last bill. Did that and then realised that it was the same number and I got the same message

Phone Directory enquiries and was given the number 0800 977 7337, phoned that and received the same message.

I can feel a bad 2008 coming on with these imcompetants! any ideas anyone?

Yes.... I managed to get about £300 compensation after they screwed up three separate accounts... but I did have to call them every hour on the hour for nearly three weeks (after my patience was exhausted after more than six weeks of calling them intermittently, and no one getting back to me). In case it helps, the number I had was 0800 005 005.

I wouldn't even think about using T-Mobile after they fraudulently tried to force subscribers to pay an extra 99p/month despite them being entitled to end the contract without penalty. Grrrr!!!

Vodafone and Virgin have both been pretty good, though...

i quit them this year still have not resolved my issues, it made me too angry to discuss with them...full signal while roaming but my phone was disconnected on thier error - I found out months later while home visiting, someone close to me died but no-one could get a hold of me, i didnt know of any disconnection till I landed @ heathrow with no signal & had to call o2 why I was experiencing a o2 problem at heathrow - no-one else was & I had tried different handsets before calling " your account is disconnected, it was months ago for non-payment " ?? well thanks o2 for a call or text beforehand - you knew I was roaming long term b4 disconnection, a letter to my billing address in the UK does not cut it as
" disconnection notification ", more so when o2 screwed up the direct debit and that was after serious complications the exec ofice sorted out, I only went to o2 as I won a free Moto Razr handset using payg & went to sim only then onto contract.........2 years of hell

call 202 from your phone (402 if you are a select customer)
100 will only take you to network services who will not be able to help

it's free from your mobile if you are a cpw o2 customer
then just get to the main menu and press 0 and you'll get transferred to customer service. usually resolve issues quite quick

Quite apart from the stupid letter which makes no sense at all the main problem I have is that in the letter it says to dial this number but when I do a recorded message says 'thank you for phoning o2 please dial the number that is on your latest bill' and the number on the latest bill is the same as the one on the letter!

Phoned 118118 and got another number and that goes to the same recorded message

The reaosn that I stayed with o2 after months of aggro a couple of years ago is that anyone I spoke to who was with another company seem to have problems too, they all seem to be about as bad as each other and I foolishly thought that at least I would be able to say that last time they were awful and paid me compensation and this may help, sily aren't I?!

This time I cannot even get through on any number to maon or shout!
