    Thans for all the comments - its helpful - still deciding.
    Have seen them in office settings and a big plus is cleaning, no need to clean individual slats when they are in the sealed unit,just give the glass a wipe.

    I understand how they work but my point is once the window is open, due to the fact the blind is attached, it no longer stops the light getting in. This is quite a big issue if you have bought them to be blackout blinds.

    Not just the light, but flies and even birds!

    Previous owners had them in the patio doors/windows, I hated them, simply too fiddly to operate. We now have normal clip on blinds for some of the glazing, curtains, and roller blinds for other areas.
