Been looking adapted vehicles online and currently waiting for them to contact me regarding a home demonstration of 2 vehicles. I feel a bit disloyal as we’ve always bought from the same garage. Unfortunately a standard car with a hoist put in,isn’t really sufficient anymore. The current car doesn’t half sink when the wheelchair goes in. Youngest chair is big and heavy. I was hoping to keep the current car going for longer but it’s becoming unreliable. Anyway looks like we will need to spend the bulk of my inheritance. I was hoping to keep it to one side to use as my pension pot but it’s not meant to be, no use sulking.
Took the youngest to meet up with their boyfriend for lunch. As it was so hot I ended sitting in the cafe and having lunch, an unforeseen expense😖. I usually sit in the car with a bottle of water. At 36 degrees that wasn’t an option today. Good job I took my book to read.
Phone call to say miss giddychops ashes are back with the vet😮‍💨.

Does youngest not qualify for a Motability car? x

My OH was a wheelchair user and we got an pre loved adapted Citroen van with a ramp at the back from a specialist dealer down south. Don't know if that would work if its a heavy chair? It had various clamps to keep the chair in place and a special seat belt. Still a 3 seater plus wheelchair even though enough space for a chair, tinted windows in the rear Was one of our best buys ever.

They do qualify for Motability greent, but it would be a family car rather than just a car for them. It’s something I’m going to look into more. However looking at what we would pay via motability versus how much one would cost us and we’d be able to keep it, financially the last car was a winner. I usually run my cars into the ground this one I’ve had 13 years and it’s 16years old.
Teapot2 that’s what we are currently looking at. Good to know someone else has done it that way. The plan is to travel to a special dealership in Coventry ( about 90 minutes away)with the youngest and try lots of vehicles when we get back off holiday. Dealership also does Motability Scheme. 2 birds 1 stone.
The car is fixed, new spark plugs and a blah? So we are good to go.
Garden thoroughly watered yesterday. Collected miss giddychops ashes and then went for petrol (£45.87)

FRUGAL WINS FOR YESTERDAY.
• breakfast was homegrown herbs in an omelette with olio mushrooms. Snacks were homegrown apricots. Tea was salad with homegrown lettuce.
• signed up for octopus 🐙 saver session.
•watered future meals at the allotment.
• used nature’s tumble dryer.
• took banana peels up to the allotment to make a potassium feed.
• finally got the hotbox up to temperature, so hopefully will get some compost from that in the next couple of months.

Well time to pack.

Certainly lots to ponder with the current state of play with motability particularly no longer being able to extend a lease beyond 3 years even for WAV’s with such high deposits.

We are back. Lovely holiday, fantastic town and made some wonderful memories. However, I wouldn’t stay in the same property for a variety of reasons, best not say why. You never know who is reading.
It’s good to be home. I feel fairly rested, although I did have a nap earlier hence why I’m awake now.
Fairly spendy as we managed to find Mr 🐞some trail 🏃 shoes £120😱, we then decided that since we had bought the eldest a graduation present (2yrs ago), we should really get the youngest something. So they had a brand new leather jacket £199 from us and my dad (inheritance will pay his bit since he’s no longer here). So not a cheap holiday.
The Eldest is back from their trip and it was their birthday yesterday, we got them a second cookbook ( camping), some toffees and gave to them some money to treat themselves. They have had a fab time on the boat and is very happy with the data they collected. By the sounds of it they have made some fabulous memories too.
I was happy to get up to the plot yesterday (went whilst eldest popped up to see in laws),lots of watering. I officially have no water in any of my butts. Good job we have water on site. Nothing appears to have died. Put in an extra 4 courgette plants. Brassicas are getting hammered by flea beetle this year🤬.

FRUGAL WINS FOR YESTERDAY .

• used natures tumble dryer.
• dw, wm and car programmed to come on when cheap tariff is.
• used my birthday money to buy 3 books by Charles dowding and got a discount.
• harvested: courgettes, spring onions, lettuce, cucumbers, beetroot.
• used part of my birthday money to buy a gorgeous blue tie die dress (£5) in a charity shop.
• currently defrosting 2 portions of veggie (fridge bottom rescue)soup for tea tomorrow.
• tea was salad ( homegrown lettuce and cucumber), mackerel, homegrown new potatoes 🤤 and feta cheesecakes (homegrown potatoes, courgettes, spring onions and mint) . Made extra feta cheesecakes for tomorrow. There was 9 but 1 mysteriously disappeared 🤔.
• birthday 🎂 was the one Mr🐞 bought to take to his aunts, but was then ill. Plus still using birthday candles from ones we’ve bought over the years. We used to buy a pack (lots of different colours), but the youngest would only let us use the pink ones and not the other colours. Am I grasping at the frugal straw there?

Going to read my book for a bit and hopefully I’ll feel sleepy 🥱 soon.

It sounds like a lovey holiday and your eldest's trip must have been wonderful, too! The tie dye dress was a great find for you, and the shoes for Mr 🐞.
