    1. Where exactly do they mention that this is capped to £25. Even now that I know it is supposed to be mentioned somewhere, I can't find it in the app description or in the More about this offer.
    2. in this day and age to advertise something as "free" when it is in fact capped it is deliberately misleading. Advertise is as "get up to £25 of free electricity" if this is what you are offering
    3. When earnings fail to calculate for whatever reason, there is no support (custommer services jsut sends an AI generated reply repeating the info already in thye app) and the custommer is left with the additional cost (see below)
    4. This generates an additional cost for the many of us who have night/day tarrifs and have used this to do things day time that we would otherwise do on the cheaper tarrif. Similarly where we might be a bit more cautious with heating or using a tumble drier, (which the app specifically encourages) we are left with using more energy and the associated cost.

I found the T&C's quite easily by looking in the "Power Hours info and results" section on the App.

    https://www.uswitch.com/mobile-app/power-hours/terms/#25-hours

However, I agree that the time taken to calculate the results is too long and also that the impact for users who have certain tariffs like Economy 7 is not clearly explained.

I only picked up from a Facebook page that Uswitch can only use the single tariff rate version of my Economy 7 tariff . Something that I subsequently got confirmed by USwich on a chat support line.

So any usage over and above my normal day time usage during the Power Hours would be credited back at a lower rate than the day time rate I am actually paying. No point at all then charging up our battery storage and heating the hot water during the Power Hours as it would cost more money than doing so overnight.

The rules as published aren't that detailed. FWIW I think I went over £5 today, so I might find out whether there's a cap or not when they calculate it - hopefully before next weekend.

Mine shows I earned £5.44 in the first session and £5.29 in the second session so it looks like £25 overall.

I should be a bit over £1 from Saturday I think. Opted for 12-5 on Saturday as we had cooking to do, plus a load of washing. I'm trying to strike the balance between choosing the best times for Agile pricing and not using "extra" - but just doing things we'd need to do at some stage anyway.

Qriz - do they have a live chat or similar where you can ask what is going on with your first session?

£8 pending from week 1, £5 from week 2 and around £2 for week 3 - hoping for some nice cheap Agile electricity in the last two weeks ...

Satisfied customer of Octopus Agile - past savings on average 33% of standard tarrif

Deep seated hatred of Scottish Power and all who sail in her - would love to see Ofgem grow a pair and actually do something about it.

  • I signed up for this at the beginning thinking it was a great idea . It’s a total rip off , uswiich have been so unhelpful with ai responses or just quoting me the website text as a response.

Basically all my details are correct , I’ve used over £8 of electric each session , tumble dryer etc and charging car as on standard rate
not ev tarrifs , they apparently now can’t read my meter so have credit me the “average” saving so I’ve been given £1.92 or there about each session so now massively out of pocket.

Disgusting behaviour from a provider who we trust
