Message alert
I have an iPhone XR. iOS 18.6.2.
I have sounds checked for Messages (Anticipate), sometimes I get an alert, but often I do not. Any ideas?

Do you have "Do Not Disturb" scheduled?1

When you say you get an alert, do you mean you hear the notification tone? Or do you mean there is a banner at the top of the screen notifying you of the message?
Is one or both of these missing?

The first thing to do is check that the Silent switch is working properly. Try to switch it a few times and make sure it works.
Next try making sure Do Not Disturb is not active
Next go into Sounds and Haptics and make sure a tone is selected and the volume is turned up.
Next, make sure your firmware is upto date. I think you should be on iOS 18.7.10 -
