MSE 10 month Octopus fix for an existing Octopus customer - worth it?

I’m m currently on a fix with Octopus until April (electricity) and May (gas). No exit fees.
The MSE fix is slightly more expensive for electricity but cheaper for gas so would save me around £25 overall between now and May next year. BUT it comes with 2x £25 exit fees.
Do you think it is worth me doing the switch? Chances are that prices will be higher again in the April-June quarter…maybe!
Have any existing Octopus customers done this switch? Was it easy enough to do?
And at what point before the end of a contract are exit fees no longer applicable? Is it 3 months? I can’t remember!
Thanks. 🙂

I've decided to go leave Octopus and go with the British gas deal over the Octopus one as it's cheaper and 14 month long. Though exit fees are £50 per fuel.
You could just switch the Gas if you want to stay with Octopus?
It's usually 50 days before end of contract that you can switch exit fee free. Octopus might 49 days.In Progress!!!1 -

Yes the switch was easy, and i think you can do single fuel. I just went with both as it's cheaper than both of my current octopus tariffs, but not by much.
British gas customer service is awful. I had to get the complaints team in to resolve my issue when i was with them before, but that was because they were trying to bill me for pre payment meter. Hoping i won't need to contact them this time.In Progress!!!1 -
Easy to switch tariffs with Octopus, should you wish. Email, call or tweet.I usually email. It might take them a day or three to answer, but in the email I request when I want the switch to happen (usually immediately), and the switch is backdated to then.1
