    Go with the trial date. Id say the other bit is a clerical error

    Yes you must attend on 10th (get there early to get through security) but I'd ring Southampton Court to check the hearing is still going ahead, did VCS pay the hearing fee?

    You could also point out the error about the other hearing date, and clarify for certain.

    Thank you. Yes it seems VCS paid the hearing fee. I was hoping they might drop it at this stage as it happened on other cases.

    However, you could not ask for better judges than at Southampton Court. Been there myself. They HATE parking firms IMHO.

    Do NOT speak to their rep in the waiting area.  Just a polite "no, we'll speak before the judge thankyou".

    What did the court say about the double hearing issue?

    When I called they confirmed both dates, but on the 10th they told me there was not trial, it was a clerical error. We need to attend on the 22nd now. At least that gives us more time to read more material and get into the right head space. Any advice from people that attended the hearing?

    A 20 minute preliminary hearing (a tiny amount of time) isn't a final hearing but it can be a chance for you to argue that the Claim should be struck out.

    You could read Mazur and send in a quick skeleton argument (emailed this week) with two things:

    1 - the new Mazur argument to strike the case out as this was a DCB Legal claim form signed by Sarah Ensall, who isn't authorised to conduct litigation (Southampton Judges will like that);

    and

    2 - attach this transcript about a VCS Bristol Airport case, heard by a Southampton Judge snd where the OP paid for the transcript for the greater good:

    I'd definitely email both these attached to a skeleton argument, plus a signed sheet listing your costs for printing & attending this prelim hearing...

    (travel? Parking? Extra childcare costs? half day off work?).

    Email to the local court hearings email and cc in DCB Legal (...not VCS). Asap this week.
