Hi ,
Seeking your views on this , I recently received my bill and queried with the company why my bill was higher the average for the area and my neighbours , when usage is likely to be lower as often work away ?

I thought I was on an unmetered rate but was told that I was on an assessed charge as a meter had been requested but not fitted ( likely before I lived there) .
Questions - should have been informed and can I go on unmetered and will this be cheaper ?
Thanks

Assessed is almost always cheaper than unmetered, unless you have at least two more people than bedrooms then assessed will be cheaper is the guide.JPWolf123 said:Hi ,

You could ask for a meter again to find out if they are able to fit one or not and you can ask them to check the assessed criteria (number of people mostly, garden, pond etc.).
They do not need to inform you of anything though, entirely down to the customer.0 -
OP, ask them what it was assessed on. Its usually number of people. If you are on your own and it was assessed for a family of 4, then you'll pay too much. Assessed is the best of both worlds normally. Our unmetered rate was gonna be £1,200 a year, the assessed rate was £600 and now we're on a meter, should be a bit less as we are quite careful, but if we were on assessed, we'd probably use more water.0
