If you want to pursue your rights under the consumer rights act 2015 ... ... make it clear to Screwfix that - because you went to them first - you are treating their referral to Mira as Screwfix exercising their one permitted attempt under the consumer rights act 2015 either to repair or to replace the shower...0 -

Go back to screwfix and speak to them.2 -
Before you go to Mira go back to Screwfix and
(1) tell them you are happy to accept their advice to go to Mira, but
(2) make it clear to Screwfix that as you initially went to them to exercise your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (CRA),
(3) you are treating their referral to Mira as the one and only attempt that the CRA gives Screwfix either to repair or to replace the shower, and
(4) if Mira either (a) can't fix it or (b) their repair or replacement fails,
(5) you will be pursuing Screwfix for the refund you are entitled to under the CRA
When you then go to Mira, tell them that Screwfix have referred you to them directly and that by doing so Screwfix are discharging their responsibility to you under the Consumer Rights Act to repair or replace the shower for free.
If Mira say their will be a charge for the work you need to get back to Screwfix and explain that despite following Screwfix's instructions, Mira are wrongly trying to charge you, and you need to get Screwfix to sort it out.
If the people you are dealing with at Screwfix and/or Mira can't understand all that, come back here.
[Edit: The above all assumes the shower actually is faulty and that you or a third party installer haven't damaged it and that you are using it correctly]

If Screwfix want to use Mira to sort the repair that’s fine but they should be doing the run about. If they refuse then reject the goods under the short term final right to reject.

I think they also want it sorted out quickly (no shower) so might be quicker going direct to Mira rather than via Screwfix?
This is a common issue on this board and OP's get inconsistent answers.
eg "Don't go to the manufacturer, your consumer rights are against the retailer."
Or "If the retailer refers you to the manufacturer go to the manufacturer as the retailer will simply send it to them anyway so it will be quicker"0 -

Yes I do agree it's probably quicker and easier all round, seems to be a real sticking point on the whole one repair/replace attempt.
I guess a company like Screwfix aren't going to court over a shower so it's probably moot but it is poor these companies want an agreement with the manufacturer to make their lives cheaper but can't set up some integrated system to allow the consumer to arrange the matter through the company's own website rather than having to do the leg work.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces1 -
