CEL witness statements seem to be far worse then other firms they are literally a copy and paste with no facts as to the case, i dont think ive ever seen a witness statement as bad as this its if they dont intend to use them at a hearing
Ive compared several and apart from the claim number they are word for word the same

Might be worth us asking everyone to post theirs here now. Treating this like a group thread if you agree, @ChirpyChicken

We have half a dozen posters with one of them this week alone, and although all these WS will all be the same, they could all then use these to show the judge what CEL are doing and ask for the WS to be struck out and/or the ex-Wonga 'Head of Legal' barrister Scott Wilson being required to attend for cross-examination.

I know we don't normally want to see the 'same old same old' images but this thread could be a useful resource, especially if we gather more than a dozen exact same WS.

Indeed agreed. Thread title changed @Coupon-mad

Even the likes of moorside actually go into detail about the actual parking event

Is it simply a precursor in order to get payment

These Witness Statements are designed to scare payment out of an ill-informed defendant, nothing more.

    Indeed
Given their covering letter says this :

Please find attached a Witness Statement.
Despite multiple reminders being sent to you, including debt recovery correspondence and the Letter Before Action and notwithstanding the additional costs incurred in issuing a claim, the debt remains unpaid.

Unless payment is received in full without further delay, we will be left with no alternative but to proceed to the hearing of this matter. In such circumstances, we will seek to recover from you the outstanding balance, along with additional legal costs incurred, including (but not limited to) preparation time, attendance, and travel expenses.

We reserve the right to file and serve a supplementary or updated witness statement prior to the hearing, should it become necessary.

To settle this matter and avoid further costs, please make payment using the payment methods listed above. If payment is received in full, we will notify the Court of the settlement, and no further action will be required from your side.

I would be happy to forward to Coupon Mad. I have compared the witness statements on here to the one I received but this was from the start of 2024 and is slightly different. The judge I had was very clued up and didn't take much to dismiss their case.

This witness statement was received for a defence which was logged on the 25/09/2025 and is still at the CNBC with no allocation yet!
