We sell your Timeshare

Hi, I've been contacted by this company saying they have a buyer for my timeshare. They have quoted a very good price (Probably too good) which has kind of set the alarm bells ringing. They want me to pay a 'liability charge' of £995 by credit card first to show I am serious about selling which will be refunded to me in approx 12 weeks once the sale has gone through.
The London address they have given is a 'virtual' office space and their website doesn't give too much away. They are an LLC company with an address in America.
I know the old saying that if it sounds too good to be true it generally is, but just wondered if anyone out there has any past experience of anything like this?
I've contacted my credit card company who tell me the payment would be covered against fraud, but I'm still wary.
Help!!!

If you're SELLING the time share, then why on earth would you have to pay money to them??
It should be them paying money to you, to show that they are serious about having a buyer!!
SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM!
Do not hand them a penny!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Thanks Pinkshoes!
I've just contacted the Timeshare Consumer Association and they have said exactly the same.
Just glad I haven't agreed to anything! or parted with any money. The con artist is supposedly going to call me back this afternoon - Oh will I be ready for her!!0 -
Sometimes you might have to pay an administration fee when selling through a 3rd party, but this fee would always be settled AFTER the sale, once you had the money in the bank.
You'd never have to pay money upfront!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

you can name and shame them on this site."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
I have been contacted by a company based in Spain called eliworlds.com.
They also are called elitravel.com or equisite travel internal sl.
They used to be based in Cyprus for 12 years apparently
Has anyone heard anything about them at all? They offer a concierge service and will discount holidays by 35% to 85% percent.
However they have a mebership singing on fee which I am just about to transfer to them and was hoping for any extra information
Cheers0 -
If something sounds too good to be true. It more than probably is. Trading standards have warned about this time and time again, do people listen? No. Because greed takes over.
Look at those so called mega sales in hotels on a Sunday with a laptop for £40, PC for £60, flat screen TV £80 and the like. Idiots still go for a "bargain" get fleeced, then start crying like a baby to the local paper when they realise they have been ripped off. You were warned.
Ask yourself, how many times in your life have you got something for nothing? Nothing.
Exactly.
If people pay for something upfront to a company they have never heard of they deserve to be fleeced for being stupid. That's how they make their money. Do you seriously think they have your best interests at heart when they want to make money, hardly.
Save your £995 and tell them to go forth and multiply. Buy me a beer with your savings.0 -

You are one of two things....
1. A complete cement headed Moron
2. A Spammer trying to drum up business by getting people visiting the site of the rip off merchants.
I think you are the second one, simply because you know enough about them to know the alias company names, but have managed to miss the Billions of warnings about being Ripped Off.0 -

Thanks very much for this
Without getting too heated I am certainly not the first thing, as all I was trying to do was find out some information before getting potentially ripped off. If I didnt ask questions like this then what is the point of a forum???
Secondly, I resent the fact that you consider myself a Spammer. Its not hard to find out different company names if you are intersted enough to work out if you are being ripped off, which actually brings me full circle to why I asked the question in the first place!!!!0
