Can't say much online but they have acted unlawfully as discrimination is not legal.lincroft1710 said:"Fairness" counts for nothing, "lawfulness" counts for everything. Your employer can act unfairly (in your opinion) but they should not act unlawfully.
They only shared available roles yesterday and the date is next week.0 -
I am leaving just want to negotite the best deal.Arctos said:You mention the preference your line manager has for your colleague. Unless you are confident that the scoring system has been tampered with - very difficult to demonstrate to a tribunal, it may be pragmatic to accept what others consider to be a decent settlement. Bear in mind that even if you won a battle involving the line manager and were not made redundant, it may be that you might find the aftermath unpleasant. That manager may seek to find sufficient fault to invoke disciplinary or capability procedures in extremis. They may also seek to make life hell and redundancy with a decent [perhaps agreed] reference may be a help towards finding another job. Whereas, an tetchy line manager may reduce the prospect of a decent reference ... damning with faint praise may be an impression given to a prospective future employer.
I have no intention staying for my mental wellbeing.0 -
Discrimination is not in fact illegal. However some (but far from all) discrimination is unlawful in relation to employment.london21 said:

In fact, many things about employment are discriminatory by definition!lincroft1710 said:

Which applicant gets the job?
Who do you promote?
Who gets a pay rise?
Apart from a few criteria prohibited by law (e.g race, religion etc) an employer can decide in any way they like.0 -

I would exercise caution here - at the end of the day if they found a way of dismissing you - then redundancy is out the window.2

If you make yourself a nuisance to the business they might find a way of dismissing you rather than make you redundant.london21 said:Kindly elaborate.retiredbanker1 said:I would exercise caution here - at the end of the day if they found a way of dismissing you - then redundancy is out the window.
If you are dismissed you are not entitled to redundancy.
Go with the terms within your contract of employment or if there are no terms go with what everyone else is being offered.1
