Yes, thats what an introducer does, it markets someone else's product.Lottie83 said:I agree to some extent, but my policy document is Tesco branded, as is their website. Payments also come from Tesco Bank. My contract of business is with Tesco.
Where your paying from doesnt make any difference, if you were paying from a Sainsbury's account would you think it makes it a Sainsbury's policy?
Your contract is with Pinnacle, read the contract (aka policy book) and you will see "we / us" is Pinnacle Insurance plc not Tesco0 -
To clarify, I meant their payments to me following a claim, have Tesco Bank as the payer.Clearly I’m a layperson and I do not have the background or insight that you do.I am purely approaching this from a customers perspective, which is I have been disadvantaged by Tesco changing underwriter.0

Look at how much they've paid out recently to you - I'm honestly amazed the renewal quote is as low as it is.Lottie83 said:To clarify, I meant their payments to me following a claim, have Tesco Bank as the payer.Clearly I’m a layperson and I do not have the background or insight that you do.I am purely approaching this from a customers perspective, which is I have been disadvantaged by Tesco changing underwriter.
They've paid out thousands, plus the staff admin time in dealing with claims etc isn't free either - insurance payouts need to be balanced by income from premiums, and it's clear you're going to be quite an expense to keep on the books.
You can either stay with them or leave, but if you tot up how much they've paid out it's easy to work out how they've come to the premium quoted. They're a business, unfortunately they need to operate at a profit.0 -
It is not unknown for the underwriters to change.Lottie83 said:To clarify, I meant their payments to me following a claim, have Tesco Bank as the payer.Clearly I’m a layperson and I do not have the background or insight that you do.I am purely approaching this from a customers perspective, which is I have been disadvantaged by Tesco changing underwriter.0
