eBay find in my favour then remove bad feedback

I suspect there will be changes to feedback as ebay seems to want to continually change things - hence the new 'number of revisions allowed' , some we will like and some I suspect we will not.
I think they'd probably do away with it now if they could. It had a purpose early on in Ebay but now so many know their way around it that it is increasingly irrelevant. I sell about 10-20 items per week on Ebay, back in the day it was more than ten times that. I used to check feedback regularly, now I'll look once a month if that. My main selling platform is still Amazon and feedback there is rarely received as a seller, product reviews are far more relevant and important..0 -
Hopefully Ebay will reinstate the ability for sellers to leave negative feedback for buyers0

That doesn't serve much useful purpose at all - it just results in sellers getting revenge negs and losing any benefit they get from maintaining a high positive feedback.caprikid1 said:Hopefully Ebay will reinstate the ability for sellers to leave negative feedback for buyersI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. These "unintentional traps" are not just an eBay thing. The digital age means we all need to be clued up on what you can and can't say about someone. Basically use professional language, after all, everything you put down has a digital footprint that leads to you.Anonymous_eBay_Buyer said:But as soon as the buyer falls into unintentional traps and says the wrong thing in the submitted feedback, the seller can just get it removed

Hopefully not! It was carnage when it was allowed and was ridiculously abused, mostly by bad sellers giving honest buyers revenge negative feedback.caprikid1 said:Hopefully Ebay will reinstate the ability for sellers to leave negative feedback for buyers1 -

Ah yes, you are 100% correct here and I agree. If the buyer called the seller out of their name or was otherwise personal or disrespectful in their submitted feedback, I could certainly see the case for the feedback getting removed in that instance, as no one deserves to be subject to that for any reason. I actively try to avoid heated online disputes with others for this exact reason, because once it’s out there, it’s out there, and it only reflects badly on the participants.
But my comment was in reference to things that are much less clear-cut for buyers, such as eBay’s feedback extortion rule, or the fact that eBay intervention can’t be mentioned in feedback, as what has happened with the OP. Apologies if my comment wasn’t entirely clear.

This is news to me, even if it has been so for a long time.soolin said:Did you mention that ebay intervened at all ? if so that is an automatic feedback removal as soon as seller complains.
I read this thread as, unusually, I have been let down by a supplier on ebay. Essentially I purchased an item with delivery promised within a couple of days. After a week, the item had not been dispatched so I sent a note (via ebay) to the seller. Another week on there was no response, so I used the option to open a case for non-delivery. No response from the seller. So I logged it with ebay as item not received and 2 days later ebay notified that a refund will be processed.
So, if I leave feedback along the following lines it will be OK:
"After purchase the item was not dispatched and the seller unresponsive. Eventually I was able to claim a refund."
BUT, if I leave the following it will not be OK:
"After purchase the item was not dispatched and the seller unresponsive. Eventually I was able to claim a refund via ebay resolution."
Is that the correct understanding of the comments in this thread?0
