I'm intending trying to get underwritten through the Coop account, though waiting until my annual policy runs out. Coop is currently offering 3 months free.

My brother who will be 79 years old next month is thinking of going on a cruise next June and was pricing travel insurance and the cheapest he could get it because of his and his wife's health is £600 approx.

If he was to open a joint Coop everyday extra current account and paid the £17 a month until next June and also any necessary payments and withdrawals then cancel the account when he returned from his cruise it would only cost him £136.

    Is this feasible?

He used to have a Nationwide account with travel insurance but now he is too old.

    BIB
Nationwide Flexplus travel insurance £18pm, is now underwritten by Aviva. No age limit specified. Worth a look?
I might try that for myself as I am over 80, I still have my Flex Account though the balance is £0 I suppose I could upgrade it, The last cruise I had was before covid, I had one booked but it was cancelled because of covid and I got my money back.

I've never been on a holiday since.
    WARNING OFF TOPIC POST
Aviva charge more than previous Nationwide insurer for medical conditions, extended or expensive  trips etc but we think it’s decent value.
We are mid/late 70s and had 2 cruises cancelled because of Covid. Anxiously took our first post Covid holiday in June 2022 to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary & were hooked on cruising again.
You/we don’t know how many years we have left to travel & see the world. Check out Nationwide FlexPlus & Aviva & book that cruise!
