Motor Finance Agreement Claim - Ineligible Claim Accepted

I'm yet another person who has inadvertently signed up to a claim having used an eligibility checker.
However, when I've looked further into requirements and scope, I believe my agreement doesn't fall into the applicable window for elibgibility (being a July 2021 agreement).
I may be misunderstanding this, but I am struggling to understand why a claim has been accepted as the eligibility checker should have said rejected it in the first instance.

I would read the fine print, sometimes these companies can have a clause where they are entitled to act as an agent for things like tax refunds too...means if you're ever entitled to a tax refund it will automatically be sent to them and they will take a massive chunk of it as a fee. It could be an error on their part, or perhaps they are hoping for an appeal to the court ruling...but definitely check the fine print1

These so-called claims companies are just chancers.0

there are two elements to motor finance claims at the moment, once is DCA and the other is excessive commissions. Whilst DCA was banned in Jan 2021 you could still potentially have a claim for excessive commissionSmellyWellies said:I'm yet another person who has inadvertently signed up to a claim having used an eligibility checker.

Thanks. I hadn't considered the open ended potential. I have been thinking I would just cancel my "claim" and move on, but it looks like it's not as simple as that.flossymcfly said:I would read the fine print, sometimes these companies can have a clause where they are entitled to act as an agent for things like tax refunds too...means if you're ever entitled to a tax refund it will automatically be sent to them and they will take a massive chunk of it as a fee. You might want to check, and see if/how we can terminate any agreement you might still be in.SmellyWellies said:

I have been reading various posts about the merits of cancelling (potentially with a fee) or just letting it run to a conclusion.0 -
Thanks. I clearly need to do more reading.MyRealNameToo said:

If I have no claim remaining, would my "claim" just be ended and that's that?MyRealNameToo said:
