I tend to agree with Indigogirl's comments above.
Bought my lad one of these last year for £25, bargain! but having searched for cartridges, cant seem to find a pair for less than £30.
Canon used to make great printers for getting cheap ink for, but now seem to of gone the way of lots of other makers.
Not decided what way to jump with it yet, but am tempted to do the uneviromental thing and dump the printer and buy a brother like I have and can get cheap ink for.
Its totaly mad that a printer with ink can be sold for less than the ink itself, disposable printer i guess.
Dont suppose anyone has found any cheap ink for it yet? Tried the refilling cartridges years ago n just ended up with ink everywhere and a dud cartridge, so dont fancey going there again.

But refilling them really is simple!!

Slide a knife under the top, twist and off it comes. There is like white fibre stuff inside, inject about 6ml of ink until the colour just shows. Put top back on and stick down with a bit of sellotape. Job done.

I don't believe the software story from Cartridge World - you could just reinstall the old software if tht was the case. Mine comes up with a low ink warning every time I print put I believe this can be permanently disabled by pressing and holding stop/reset for 10 seconds. I've not tried it in case I want to go back to originals at some point (although unlikely).
