Has anyone else had problems with Lloyds debit card fraud team?

I am having an on going battle with LloydsTSB's debit card fraud department and wondered if anyone else is having the same problems?

I have had two fraudlent transactions against my bank account three months ago, and I am STILL messing about with them... They have taken the money out of my account twice, and I am now that annoyed with them that I am on the verge of going to the financial ombudsman about it all!

But if anyone else is having a similar problem I was wondering if we would be better of doing something as a group of people rather than individuals?

I pay £25 per month for premier banking, and they are fine, it's just the sensitivity free zone of the debit card team that bothers me!

Anyone else having fun with them?

Perhaps you could elaborate a little more on the transactions ? Who has taken money twice ?

You cannot go to the FOS. You need to go through the internal complaints proceedure with Lloyds first.
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. • Sorry, yes...I got a bit excited with that post!

Basically its a long tale, but the general gist of it is that there were two transactions against my card which were fraud. The first one was reported by me, but the second one was stopped by them when my card was cancelled.

I filled in a set of forms to confirm that both of these were fraud. But some how Lloyds managed to honour the second transaction and admitted that it was a 'c*ck up' on their part (excuse the french - but that is what they told me!)

I comaplained at this point about the process as it takes 5 days to get the money back from them, but other banks give you the money instantly. Got a nice letter back and £25

But since then I have had another set of forms to fill in to confirm that it really is fraud...which has caused me some anger, because surely I wouldn't have reported it in the first place if it wasnt?... But they havent received the 2nd one and that transaction amount was taken out for a second time at Christmas.

The whole way they deal with this is very poor in my opinion, and no matter how much I complain to them, they do not listen to me. They spout all manner of rubbish about the computer systems etc but just do not accept that they are not helpful. I work in IT so I know what computers are capable of, and what they are telling me is most of the time twaddle!

I have written another letter to their complaints department, and will wait and see what they come back with, but I did wonder if this was just me, or if they are like this with everyone!

They are crap to say the least. I had to threaten legal action to get my money back from them after they authorised a transaction to an online betting company for an account in some foreigners name where the address didnt even match mine. Lloyds TSB are a JOKE! i can even prove that they have in the past aproved an online transaction of an ALL MATCH ie the card details match the address, postcode, CVN number, card number, expiry date. To a FRAUDSTERS address and not that of the card holder!

Their answer. NOTHING! they couldn't explain it. The banks don't give a monkeys about fraud because it doesnt cost them. It costs the company that the money was paid to. Ive tried various times to put stops on cards that have been used to try and purchase goods from me fraudulently. The banks don't care, they take no notice, authorise the transactions and don't care!

    RANT OVER!

Twice today I got customers in who had dodgy or largish transactions declined.
After speaking to the fraud team both customers left satisfied as to why they were declined in the first place and how to get them through again.
Don't talk wet about the banks don't give a monkey - of course they care because the fraud has to be paid back by them in most cases!

I beg to differ, the banks only ever lose if the money is taken from the account over the counter, If a card is involved its the company that the goods were purchased from fraudulently that loose out.

I'm actually working on a patent for an idea that could stop 50% of card fraud over night.

I have had 5 fraudulent transactions taken today. Was very annoyed to be told it would take them 5 days to replace the money given in theory the money is showing as being taken out in 2 days time (monday 7th). I found them to be unhelpful given that I had flagged to them an attempt last week to defraud turned down by the company and was advised not to cancel my card but instead to watch the account. Now I have a debit to some online !!!!!! site in the US. Marvellous

Was this Lloyds? Doesn't matter which bank really, but just goes further to prove my point. They didn't want you to cancel your card becuase it would have meant them having to produce a new one and send it too you and that costs them money. In the end you end up with the inconvenience and money missing from your account. Sorry to say it but, Good luck in getting it back in 5 days! They said that to me and after 2 weeks and half a dozen false promises I had to go and stand in the middle of the bank in front of all the customers and shout about it threatening to take them to court. They try and usher you into a room to "talk about it" but that's jsut becuase they don't want other customers to hear and that is FACT! I know people who work for various banks and even my Ex Wife worked for one. If someones sounding off in the bank they are more likely to do something about it.

yes it was lloyds. The more I think about this today the more angry I am getting. They assured me that they would also be watching my account for dodgy transactions. However it would appear that four amounts of £39.99 on the same day to the same company doesn't count, neither does the payment to a US internet !!!!!! collection agency.

Well this will really scare you!

I bumped into an old friend today and we got talking. I was shocked!

Last summer her and her husband went on holiday, where his debit card got cloned. A couple of weeks after they returned money started coming out of his account, his card being used where they had been on holiday. They cancelled the card. several weeks later the same happened again even though the card had been cancelled. Lloyds paid the transactions, in total the two lots came to nearly £2000! Lloyds are saying that HE used the card even though he can prove he was at work HES A POLICEMAN not likely to lie about it. THEY STILL HAVENT GOT THEIR £2000 BACK!

BUT. THE IRONY OF THE STORY SHE, works for LLOYDS TSB in the cheque book FRAUD department and she cant even get it resolved. Apparently the Police Legal team or something are now looking after it Union or something i suppose!

But what shocks me is that if they can't look after their own staff how the hell can you expect them to look after their customers!

I've told her to go to watchdog, Lloyds need a good kick up the !!!!!
