Yesterday I went into a newly opened Restaurant (part of chain) and banged my left Knee on a very sharp edge under the table. I'm still feeling the effects today.

I think I have chipped a bit off my knee cap.

How much force does it require to chip bone?

How fast does a knee have to impact a stationary object to reach that force?

How fast was your knee travelling?

Was the table restrained allowing that level of force to be fully imparted back against the knee?

Did the table move when impacted by the knee travelling at sufficient speed impart the force required to chip bone?

    I had a look today.

The table and bench are fixed/bolted to the floor, so won't budge at all if impacted.

I also had a look if I had entered the seat in a silly manor, but no, due to the fixed table and bench positions there isn't much clearance to sit down / slide in.

I'm 6ft, so won't effect everyone, but plenty of 6ft ppl about

As for a Dr. I don't think there is anything they can magically do.

The doctor may not to be do anything magical, but if you want to take this further you need to know what your injury actually was.  It won' work very well if you are guessing.

OK, so what about the other queries:

How much force does it require to chip bone?

How fast does a knee have to impact a stationary object to reach that force?

How fast was your knee travelling?

Any claim without medical evidence of injury is certain to fail.

    Yes

I had to fill in an online form and in anticipation typed up my response in WORD hoping to just cut and paste it later. When i came to the online form, i discovered i could only enter 650 characters (my WORD version was something like 3,000).

A quick cut and paste into ChatGPT asking it to summaries my text to 650 characters was done within seconds.

    Perfect!
I have a tendency to mute most posts so if your expecting me to respond you might be waiting along time!

Well I got a reply, which included.

We were very sorry to learn of the injury you sustained while visiting, and we sincerely regret any discomfort this may have caused. Please accept our apologies for the experience you encountered.

offered £30 voucher off next meal. (Seams more of an insult)
I don’t think I’ll bother to accept that.

As a further extension of our apology for your expereince, we would like to send you  £30 off your next order vouchers as a gesture of our goodwill.

I would have thought the £30 was a pretty good gesture and I'd be pleased with that if I incurred a really serious injury but not significant enough for me to have mentioned at the time to seek First Aid, nor requiring subsequent medical attention.

So how much do you want ??

They’ve put a value on your complaint/injury - what’s your value and how are you going to justify it ?

OP said it wasn't about compensation so the fact it does indeed now appear to be a factor (given the feeling towards the gesture) appears disingenuous.
