Samsung Galaxy Promotional Gift
Hi All
I'm hoping this isn't a daft question as I know the actual answer which is "you must send it back" but there's a bit of confusion around it all from me.
I purchased a new Samsung phone from SkyMobile online.
Samsung are running a promotional offer whereby you can enter the phone details once received and they would send out a free gift (in my case, a Chromebook worth £399).
I've claimed my gift and it's saying it will be shipped in November.
Here's the thing. I HATE my new phone. I cannot get on with it at all so have told Sky that I'm returning it (I'm within the 14 day cooling off period) and Sky have agreed to receive my device back and cancel the contract.
What happens to the promotional gift I'm yet to receive? I know I will need to send it back (quite rightly), but how does it work? This is nothing to do with Sky Mobile so will Samsung be made aware by Sky when I return the device or do I need to actively try to let Samsung know?
Thanks

The terms and conditions say:
“If a Participant returns or cancels the delivery of a Promotion Product after submitting a Claim, the Claim will be invalid and the Participant must cancel the Claim immediately by calling the contact numbers at Condition 16. The Promoter reserves the right to check with Participating Retailers whether a Promotion Product has been returned and by submitting a Claim the Participant provides consent to the Promoter to do so.”
So you either tell them you’ve returned the product or risk them checking with Sky1 -
Be careful @Nath_2389 I returned a phone to Sky and it was lost en route - I'd used their postage. I then had to pay the whole thing off despite doing what they'd argued as the royal mail label they'd issued to me hadn't covered the cost of the phone.
I tried to escalate within Sky and got nowhere - they said they'd blacklist the phone but I looked up the IMEI and I could see it was in use.
So, make sure the return postage you use covers the cost.
I know that legally they where responsible but I wasn't in a position to enforce that:eek::eek::eek: LBM 11/05/2010 - WE DID IT - DMP of £62000 paid off in 7 years:jDFD April20171 -
Thanks both.
Have contacted Samsung asking them to cancel my claim and will ensure I use appropirate postage on the actual device.0
