What makes you block buyers / potential buyers?

The point still stands... where did anyone say that they'd block someone for asking a question that wasn't answered by reading the listing?Momogeew said:

Erm, no. I didn't say that, and I don't believe anyone else did either...Momogeew said:So you would block me because i'm asking something that you, the seller, should have stated in your listing ?0 -
Talk about shooting yourself in the foot!
I had this recently. Item was sent defective brass cabinet lock. The item appeared to have been used before as it was pre assembled. Buyer replaced an item that still packaged but was also slightly defective and asked me to cancel the return otherwise they would incur additional costs. Tthey also informed me that their terms and condition were separate and distinct from everyone else on ebay and they did not accept returns for various reasons. I had issues with cancelling the return because:
1. I had not done before and not know how to do it
3. I still had some doubts about the replacement
At which point the buyer asked me to cancel the return as they would incur additional costs. As someone who also sells on ebay I understood their concerns. However, I told them I did not know how to cancel a return. I had also sent various correspondence about the replacement item with some concerns, and there was no response. I asked them if they had seen my messages. There was no response.
Eventually I tried the replacement and despite some concerns, it was sufficient to do the job. At which point I figured out how to cancel the return. I also decided to try and order another one (Really cabinet locks should probably be sold in pairs, something they did not offer), even though they had put of the price slightly since my last order, at which point i discovered the buyer had cancelled me. Not only did this prevent me from ordering another item, it also seemed to prevent me from providing any feedback on the item i had already purchased and received.
In the end I ended up ordering a pair of cabinet locks from China for slightly less which is probably where the seller got theirs from. That came with 30 days Amazon prime membership as well so worked out ok.
Absolute ridiculous woke nonsense from the buyer. But then I guess there are a few oddballs on ebay (myself included). Comes with the territory.0 -

Because it's not clear from your story. And what does 'woke' (whatever that is) have to do with anything?2

Woke nonsense? What's woke about any part of that situation?Shopkeepers in Britain have had the right to decide who they will deal with since the year dot. If the seller decided that some aspect of dealing with you was too unpleasant, difficult or time-consuming for them to want to do it again they're perfectly entitled to block you. They took a risk by sending a replacement in response to an open return case instead of insisting you return the original item for a refund. It doesn't sound like you were happy with the outcome, I'm not really sure why you wanted to buy from them again but I can see why they might not have wanted to take another order from you. A single cabinet lock isn't going to be worth that much.0

I have a good solution for that. You can get a pair of tiny magnets that fit on the clasps making it super easy to fasten, unfasten the necklace. There’s loads of different shapes and weights on Amazonsoolin said:I block a few people, those who start asking daft questions- and when i check have a habit of leaving poor feedback for other sellers - in fact if I come across a serial leaver of poor feedback for other sellers I tend to block anyway.
I have in the past blocked buyers who have started asking 'where is my item' (usually in capitals) a few hours after buying. I have also blocked those who want 'guarantees' who just scream they are going to be difficult ..I had one ask several questions about how difficult a clasp was on a vintage necklace, a question I have no problem with usually, but this one kept going on and on about whether their mother would be able to do the clasp- complete with medical history ..then could she clasp it herself, do I know how many people had worn this...it was endless.
