What makes you block buyers / potential buyers?

Recently I have had a spate of irritating potential buyers and buyers on eBay
- One potential kept messaging asking questions which were clearly listed in the description.
- A buyer accepted an offer, paid and then kept asking questions about if the item was compatible and how it worked, only then to ask me to cancel as the device was iOS compatible only (again listed in the description
- I've also had two 'collection only' buyer send couriers
- My personal favourite was a guy who wanted a high value item (£100+) for £45 and when I declined his offer he messaged saying "if you don't accept I will buy something else and leave negative feedback"

Asking questions where the answer is obviously in the description.
People who want tech support/advice.
Asking for an unreasonable discount (e.g. I will engage with 10-20% off, not 50% off).
Sob stories (I need this item cheaply as my child is dying and they really want it).4 -
I block a few people, those who start asking daft questions- and when i check have a habit of leaving poor feedback for other sellers - in fact if I come across a serial leaver of poor feedback for other sellers I tend to block anyway.
I have in the past blocked buyers who have started asking 'where is my item' (usually in capitals) a few hours after buying. I have also blocked those who want 'guarantees' who just scream they are going to be difficult ..I had one ask several questions about how difficult a clasp was on a vintage necklace, a question I have no problem with usually, but this one kept going on and on about whether their mother would be able to do the clasp- complete with medical history ..then could she clasp it herself, do I know how many people had worn this...it was endless.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. 1. People who ask dumb questions...repeatedly
2. Buyers whose items go "missing". I'm not in habit of sending items to addresses where items go "missing".
3. Buyers who open cases before having the decency to message me first.3 -
I would always lean towards 'block' for anything that is even vaguely reg-flaggy.
These people are really not worth your time or energy, are extremely unlikely to actually buy anything and if they do, they'll send it back.
The last one I took pity on returned a Macbook minus all of the internal parts - infuriating.4 -

You'd really lie about your child being ill to get a couple of quid off on eBay? Shocking.1 -
-Unhinged looking messages. Think millions of !!!s or ?!s, repeatedly messaging you without giving you time to answer their initial question or getting upset because you didn't answer them immediately when it's the middle of the night, or the use of CAPSLOCK for EMPHASIS.-If they're complaining before they've even bought anything. If just the images, description, price or the very polite and professional replies I've sent to them have managed to cause offence or irritate them, I don't want to deal with what may happen if they actually make a purchase. I'll let them off if it's something eBay does, like not showing accurate dispatch times or something like that.

Three things:- TXT SPK- insulting lowball offers- asking questions that would be answered by reading the listing2

Adding another to the list;
Buyers who purchase something then message straight away asking for same day dispatch and a quicker service.
I offer free P&P on everything. £12.50 item sold and I ship with Yodel (item isn't on SD) buyer purchased and has messaged asking if I can ship today using Royal Mail tracked 241 -
I sell an item that's in 2 parts. They arrive connected but easy to separate. Essentially I manufacture one part and buy in the other. Of the parts I manufacture there are about 50 variations. So I sent the wrong one to a customer.
They rightly complained so I explained that I'd send the right one and they could keep hold of the other part and dispose of the wrong one. So I did. They then complained that they'd thrown both parts away so could I send the other, I checked my messages and was quite clear about keeping hold of one part, so I refused. They then said that the part I sent them was damaged and showed me 'evidence'. They'd clearly damaged it themselves to force me to send another. I just refunded and blocked. That's the first customer I can recall blocking in years.
I used to have a long list of blocked buyers but I think there are only 2 or 3 on the Ebay account I mainly use now..0 -
