Looking for a PAYG SIP calling package

I've dug out one of my old cell phones and would like to use it for SIP calling. Tried looking online for packages but it's a minefield. Comparison sites don't track SIP calling packages. I'm basically looking for a PAYG deal where perhaps I get so many free minutes a month and so many free texts. If I can choose my own number that would a bonus but not essential. Thanks.

  • Any particular reason for using SIP rather than a conventional mobile package?

Sky Mobile will sell you unlimited (domestic) calls/texts and 1GB of data for £1/month.

Because it has to be over Wifi. I don't use cell carriers. Also needs to run over 2 devices.
  • A pal uses Voipfone, not PAYG but packages seem to be about £5/mth.

We've used LocalPhone.com (in South Yorkshire) for well over a decade and have been very pleased with them.

It's simple and straightforward PAYG VoIP (SIP) phone calls. Some of the best tariffs I've seen.

Yes Localphone is a mysterious company but seems to keep chugging along. The quality can vary but it works and you can set the caller id to you own telephone number.

Arnold and Arnold are very well regarded, I'm not sure they offer call packages but at around a penny a minute the call charges are not too bad. And they are one of the more functional companies, actually have customer service not just some website on auto.
