AA upgrade

Couple of months ago I booked flight to US. PE going out BC coming back, I’m now thinking I’d fancy BC both ways, there is nothing showing on my AA app at present showing an upgrade (paying extra of course) option, is one likely to appear when I go to check in, if BC seats are still available? Otherwise how do I go about it? Anyone done this?

Why not just call the airline (AA)?

My idea of an AA upgrade is from Roadside Assistance to National Recovery 😉
I think the OP is talking about American Airlines and travelling in Premium Economy or Business Class?
I've not yet paid for either of those options with my own money, but have travelled PE for work. It's plenty good enough for me. I'd rather have the extra £1k in my pocket.

Nope, but the way I fly there's never an option apart from choosing my seat!

I did not really want to show my hand, and appear too keen, if it was likely that nearer the time, or when I book in online that they might ask if I would like to upgrade my seat. Really I wanted to know if they do make offers like that? The PE leg is a daytime flight but I have been thinking that I’d like the extra room. More a treat to me, at my age than a necessity. If anyone does know the answer??  The PE cabin is already fully booked but BC still has seats. 40 days until the flight, so I won’t call this early anyway, if an offer might be offered.
