Eon next withdrawing offers before getting chance to respond

Had letters dated 2 September offering fix v43 and another dated 3 September offering v44.

These letters arrived Friday & Saturday, on Monday when I phoned up the offers were not available so I had to sing up to v48.

I have had this in the previous years when phone to take up offer in letter to be told it is no longer available.

Does this happen to others?

The 2nd and 3rd were over three weeks ago, its not a surprise.
  • Yes but I took action on the first available working day (Monday) after receiving the letters.

Provides can and indeed do change rates every other week, your gripe probably needs to be with the Royal Mail.

That or look if your online account offers rates.
  • No problem with royal mail here 5 days for second class is what eon expects.
As for online this was a reply to a letter sent to me.

I know that, what I am suggesting is does it not show you new potential rates online? This would save you waiting for a letter that takes ages to arrive, by which time it is too late.

You are on line to post this, why not check the Eon offers on line ?  The 12m is v51 now so that is how often they are changing.

So, you've come on here perplexed that offers that were on the table nearly a month ago aren't still available?  :/

If Eon are anything like Outfox, who I'm with, then fixes can change very quickly at times indeed. The one I'm on only lasted for one day!

Not sure why you are waiting for letters, and then waiting again for the next working day, when you could immediately go online and check the offers from Eon, and others, and sign up straight away......? :/
  • It is not  a month ago the offer on the first letter dated 2nd expired on the 3rd.
Letters is my preference for all correspondence.
When eon representative checked there were no offers better online than what was being offered verbally.

Not a month ago? The 2nd was at the beginning of the month, it’s now the end. The 2nd of October is a few days away…

I cannot fathom why you want to sit around waiting for letters, and even then not acting immediately. You’re always going to lose out.

You have to be proactive and check on-line, especially if you are ready to change. I jumped in earlier this year with OFTM and got a 12 month leccy fix for 20.37p which will keep me going until next July

If you wait for a letter then reacting means that you'll always be behind the curve as many offers are only available for a day or two.
