Private Medical Treatment

Afternoon All
I have a Vat enquiry on claiming the vat on private medical treatment.
Recently I had stem cell treatment in my knee through a private clinic.
it was mentioned that I may be able to claim back the vat on the private medical treatment.
I have searched the HMRC/VAT government website but cannot determine if the vat charged is claimable and the process that you have to follow.
Anyone any experiences of the same and been able to claim vat privately. This was not through an employer it was a personal decision. The services were undertaken in Northern Ireland which will be UK legislation

The health professionals should not charge VAT on the Invoice(s) for qualifying services...
I'd guess that any that have charged you VAT incorrectly may be pursued by you to refund the VAT paid and then it's their problem to reconcile it with HMRC and their accountants.
