Vibration in my house from a heat pump somewhere

in Heat pumps
Hi
ive recently been hearing a low level vibration in my house. I’ve had over a week of sleepless nights. I can’t locate the source as yet and environmental health not too helpful at the moment and staying the equipment they have probably won’t register it.
ive even been told to go to Gp to get my hearing tested- I did and nothing wrong!
my other neighbours are not hearing it but I’m the end terrace and it’s an old cottage- so the noise is being transferred and bouncing back in my house.
its sending me insane!
what can i do?

Is this constant 24 hrs ? or what hours ?
Have you any old fluorescent fittings ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Has there been more or diverted traffic nearby lately?
We get an odd and very distracting humming noise when anything larger than a car goes by, and we're on the top floor of a block. Try stuffing towels down the back of radiators to try to narrow down if it's something external making your house hum by causing vibrations or if it's something internal.
Regarding your thread title of it being caused by a heat pump, they shouldn't make more of a hum than a fridgefreezer unless badly installed. Unless you know one has been installed right next to you, it's probably unlikely to be that.
If you do know that's the case then you could ask your neighbour who has one in a friendly way if they've noticed any issues and suggest they get the engineer out again, but they may suggest you pay for it!

My other neighbours not hearing - does that mean some are hearing it? Or is it only you?
If it is being transferred and bouncing back, is it your house that is the source?

I was also wondering how the OP has determined that the noise he/she/they are experiencing is coming from a heat pump if he/she/they cant identify the source.
There are plenty of other sources of noise, many of which are much louder and more intrusive than a heat pump. Gas and oil boilers are equally if not noisier than heatpumps but for some reason heatpumps are being blamed
I've got a heatpump and can stand right next to it and hear the oil boiler running across the road, Even my fridge makes more noise than my heatpumpNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1 -

If part of the house is resting on solid rock then the vibes may be resonating from more distance than you might imagine, I get the odd strange sound reflected from somewhere but have given up trying to source it. If it is constant then the brain should be able to ignore it after a while.0

And if it is constant, it isn't heat pump.2
