£165pcm Thames water monthly bil…. For 2 bed house 🤯

Has anyone here had strange problems with their Thames Water smart meter?

Since moving into our house last August, our usage data shows random huge spikes – e.g. nearly 4,000 litres in a single day (7 Aug) and 1,700 litres in a day (1 Sept). That’s impossible for us – just two adults in a terraced house with a tiny paved garden.

Our normal daily use is between 200–800 litres, which makes sense. The meter itself doesn’t move when no water is running, so it’s not a leak. To me it looks like a fault with the smart meter or the way the data is sent.

I’ve reported it several times, was told someone would come out, but nobody has… and the inflated bills keep coming. Now they say we owe £365 and our monthly bills are going to be £165!

Has anyone had same and have you resolved it and how?

Does the meter have the usual mechanical rotating digital display, like an old-fashioned car mileometer, that you can read yourself?
Do these readings match up with the smart readings on your account?
