Siemens and Bosch are the same, just different writing on the front.daveyjp said:We bought a new machine a few years ago. Took advice from someone who has been in the trade 30 years - selling and repairing.
We had always bought Bosch and had good service, but his advice was if you want a Bosch built like the ones from years ago buy a Siemens.0 -
However the fact they are made in the same factory does not necessarily mean they are the same. There could be different components used based on a standard base/design. Also they can aesthetically look a bit different.Keep_pedalling said:

Clearly there is not a lot of difference but there are some.
I just checked with Chat GTP and it said pretty much the same.0 -

I'm glad you put the plural of factory. My last Bosch dishwasher was made in Spain, as was my friend's identical Siemens. My new Bosch is almost identical but was made in Poland. I'm hoping the Polish made ones are better than the Spanish made ones.Keep_pedalling said:

It depends on the product but for many its literally just aesthetically differencesAlbermarle said:

We've had a Samsung fridge/freezer, on the one hand they have vast capacity compared to their size and competitors and look good, but the freezer has been written off three times... I think they possibly pushed too far with trying to get more space in.
Had a Bosch washer/dryer and it lasted 5 years to its first breakdown and a final additional year until something burnt out. Had gone with Bosch as used to get a decent corporate discount on them.
We blew the budget and replaced it with Miele, have to say that can actually tell the difference between the different programmes and bedding does actually come out better (dryer) on the bedding programme than the normal one but too soon to say if Miele has maintained its standards or is cutting corners too as some other allege.0 -
I would not rely 100% on any source of info, including stuff posted on here !prowla said:

I'd avoid Samsung, the tune they play on completion of the wash goes on for hours. My LG washer has a tune that's only a few seconds.0

I have a Samsung washer. Three years old, reliable, well built, does play a tune at the end but not for hours! Would buy another.0

Came here to mention the annoying Samsung tunes. Would never buy a Samsung washing machine as my Samsung Oven insists in playing an annoying tune when its finished cooking. Wouldn't be so bad if it did it once, but no, it repeats it ever minute or so for 10 minutes. It's made worse by the fact it knows when I've opened the door but still it keeps on doing it.I did hope they would do a software update and stop it, but no...0

Seems strange there is no way to turn it off. Is there nothing in the user manual about it?Bendo said:Came here to mention the annoying Samsung tunes.
