Washing machine Samsung or Bosch

Hello
My current washing machine has gone pop after 13 years so not a bad innings Bosch classixx 6
2 models have caught my eye Bosch series 2 and a Samsung series 5
My daughter has the Samsung series 5 and has been pleased with it , has loads more load options than the bosch and also smarter WiFi option also has 5 year guarantee
It's also £100 cheaper than the Bosch series 2 which only has 2 year guarantee
Not sure which one to choose
Any owner recommendation welcome
Thanks

If you go with a Bosch Serie 4 or 6 they come with 5 year guarantees on selected models.

Personally we have a Bosch and would only buy a Bosch. I haven't heard the best things about Samsung

I think Bosch now isn't what it used to be 15-20 years ago.
I like my Samsung fridge freezer, but heard bad opinions about their washing machines. IMO, the more bells and whistles, the more likely it is to break and more expensive to repair, although 5 years warranty (is it parts and labour?) sounds reassuring. Do you really need WiFi?

Think the WiFi is useful as can see energy usage and also can schedule use in cheaper time periods. but not really essential
Also heard Bosch are not as well built as they were like all things these days
  • Stay well clear of Samsung. Their quality is very poor compared to Bosch and that’s from experience

Let's be honest few of us use every function available, it's basically the same wash cycles we've always used with  more use of cooler washes thanks to advance in washing powders and saving energy.

I had a Blomberg washing machine and it lasted years, it was brilliant and not particularly expensive either.

A series 4 Bosch will cost you about £20 more and you get an additional 3 year warrantee with that. The one thing that would push me down that route is that if things do go wrong Bosch do provide excellent after sales support. We bought a new washing machine and TD last year when we moved, have made one call out on each had an engineer out on site within a few days and both were fixed on that visit.

The washing mashing fault was not actually a fault but an installation error (by me) I had removed the transit bolts but not the plastic lugs they go through causing a knocking noise on fast spin. I was expecting to get hit with a call-out charge for this but none was charged.

I also had very good service with a faulty Bosch fan oven and a Worcester Bosch boiler.

As others have said, more and more washing options do not offer any advantage if you use the same three or four at most all the time.

We bought a new machine a few years ago.  Took advice from someone who has been in the trade 30 years - selling and repairing.

We had always bought Bosch and had good service, but his advice was if you want a Bosch built like the ones from years ago buy a Siemens.

Siemens and Bosch are the same, just different writing on the front.
