Unacceptable payment timeline?

I have 2 outstanding compensation claims for delayed/cancelled flights with Eastern Airways and Norse Atlantic Airways. The Eastern flight on 2nd March 2025 was cancelled, and the Norse flight on 12th April 2025 was delayed by 3hrs 59mins 🤨. Both airlines have agreed compensation is due, yet neither one has settled. It’s been 6 months. Eastern does at least apologise; Norse won’t respond to emails at all. What can I do about this?

The only way to make anything happen will be a court claim, so start with a letter before action, which in itself might provoke them into action.  Eastern is a UK company so is straightforward, but I believe Norse has different subsidiaries so you'd need to ascertain if you can pursue them through UK courts....

Eastern live from hand to mouth dependent on the main shareholder putting more money in when necessary. They have written this year admitting they don't have enough spare cash to pay 'yet' so I think a letter before action may be enough to get you to the head of the queue.

Norse Atlantic has never made a penny profit up to now but has contracts for half the fleet to be used by other airlines and ought to have sufficient cash flow to pay now, so again push them

Was this Z0784 from Orlando to Gatwick on 12th April (landing 13th)?  Outbound aircraft diverted to MIA and then positioned up to MCO.  Left 4hrs10min late but made up sometime in the air, arriving LGW 3h14min late.  If this is the one I am surprised Norse have agreed to pay compensation as it is typically a 4hr+ delay on arrival when compensation might be paid if the delay was down to the airline.

Have you tried using the Resolver website? I used them to get compensation for SAS flights (several years ago now) and whilst the whole process took a while, it was very straightforward and we received the full compensation we were entitled to.
