Some dual band routers allow for two SSIDs, one on the 2.4GHz band and one on the 5GHz band. I found it useful as some of my devices cannot use the 5GHz signal and "didn't play nice" when my old router was in dual band mode. Set up the 2.4GHz with a different name for these devices.
My "new" Hub Two router from Plusnet ,doesn't allow the bands to be split so I'm having to use it in 2.4GHz mode only - a bit of a retrograde step !!

    Thanks, Dave.
The weird thing is, even tho' this switch is 'off', I do have two separate 'WiFi's, each fully selectable on the GHz (5, 2.4, or both) - I currently have the main one on both, and the 'Guest' only for 2.4GHz (my CCTV can only use 2.4GHz).
Shall I try switching it 'on' and see what happen?!!

WiFi 1 & 2 are separate WiFi networks  Split bands does not affect you having two separate WiFi networks.

If you turn split bands on you will get 4 WiFi names visible instead (as long as both networks are set to use both the 2.4 and 5GHz frequencies) of the two you see currently - something like vodafone-2.4, vodafone-5, Guest-2.4, Guest-5 so you know which frequency is which.
