Thanks! I just posted a query in someone else's Thread.friolento said:cisko65 said:
Now I see! Santander does highlight only what's more convenient to them. And I would have not thought the DD was not compulsory if you hadn't mentioned T&C (never too easy to interpret them for me).masonic said:
I would suggest you familiarise yourself with the T&Cs related to the monthly fee. Then you will understand under what circumstances it is taken.cisko65 said:
Sorry, I'm a bit lost. On the webpage below it says "£3 monthly fee. Pay in £500 each month and have 2 active Direct Debits." Thanks again.cisko65 said:
Ah ok, usually it's the other way round. Thanks.xylophone said:If you do not set up 2 DDs on the Edge current account you do not get charged a fee.
Regardless of the fact that you are not paying a fee you can still open the Edge saver.

Now I need to consider whether it is better to pay direct debit from Easy current account (I think I can have two current accounts) or from Edge, paying £3 instead of the £2 and getting some cashback. Thanks!
You can definitely have more than one Santander current account. I currently have 5. Did you see, you can get a £30 Amazon voucher when applying for a new one? https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6629545/santander-account-30-amazon-voucher/p10 -
I've opened Edge via MSE for the Amazon account but, as I haven't switched to Santander from another bank and but just opened Edge, I have a problem with having the DD from it: I have them in Everyday and it can't be done automatically. I have to contact the companies myself. Not really worth it.cisko65 said:

Why are you trying to move your DDs? I thought you wanted to avoid the £3 feeOr is this a wind up?2

Totally wrong. If you set up dd's in the Edge current account, you will trigger the £3 monthly fee..... as has been repeatedly mentioned on here.cisko65 said:
