I haven't been able able to find answers for my following queries the Santander website. Apologies if the can.
I have an Easy current account (I can't understand what's the difference with the previous 123 lite). I would like to work out the requirements for Edge current and Edge saving accounts. I've read several time the descriptions but I can't see what is the different between them and the Every Day current & the Easy saving Access accounts.
Thanks very much for your help.

The edge current account has a £3 fee but if you don't setup 2 Direct debits you are not charged the fee but you can open the Edge saver currently pay 6% for the first year on £4000 no interest paid on amounts above £4000 so you need to withdraw the interest each monthcisko65 said:I haven't been able able to find answers for my following queries the Santander website. After the year close and reopen
The Edge up current charges a fee of £5
Pays 2.5% on balances upto £25000
But no access to Edge Saver

Thanks for the links! I had read them twice, but reading them again, and clarified by 35ar1old, helped.Ayr_Rage said:Current Accounts available now.

Now I see why I had not considered Edge saver! I had seen that, although the first year interest was 6%, it was on £4000 max (so interests to withdraw monthly).35har1old said:

I opened Chase Easy Access Saver (4.85% for the first year.)With Santander I could open Edge and Edge Saver.Comparing Easy Access and Edge as the necessary current account:with Easy Access I already pay bills and pay in £1500 (and at the moment I pay it out to another bank). So, as far as I understand, for me the only difference between Edge and Easy current accounts would be £1 for the montly fee.Is that correct? Not quite sure what you mean by "the edge current account has a £3 fee but if you don't setup 2 Direct debits you are not charged the fee but you can open the Edge saver". Is there a word missing? Thanks again.0 -
If you do not set up 2 DDs on the Edge current account you do not get charged a fee.
Regardless of the fact that you are not paying a fee you can still open the Edge saver.0 -
Sorry, I'm a bit lost. On the webpage below it says "£3 monthly fee. Pay in £500 each month and have 2 active Direct Debits." Thanks again.cisko65 said:
Ah ok, usually it's the other way round. Thanks.xylophone said:If you do not set up 2 DDs on the Edge current account you do not get charged a fee.

I would suggest you familiarise yourself with the T&Cs related to the monthly fee. Then you will understand under what circumstances it is taken.cisko65 said:

Now I see! Santander does highlight only what's more convenient to them. And I would have not thought the DD was not compulsory if you hadn't mentioned T&C (never too easy to interpret them for me).masonic said:

Now I need to consider whether it is better to pay direct debit from Easy current account (I think I can have two current accounts) or from Edge, paying £3 instead of the £2 and getting some cashback. Thanks!0 -

You can definitely have more than one Santander current account. I currently have 5. Did you see, you can get a £30 Amazon voucher when applying for a new one? https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6629545/santander-account-30-amazon-voucher/p10
