  • Went to Luton Arndale (with brother, mother and DS). Plan already agreed - brother looks after DS and mother helps me fight through the sales.
They had tonnes of stuff - toys, gift sets (lots of Ted Baker laptop bag sets), Soap & Glory etc, food gift sets. It was my first ever 75% off sale and I could easily have spent a fortune.
As funds extremely low I had to be ruthless. Grabbed lots of toys to start with then looked for a quiet corner to go through them and decide what I (or my DS) really needed. However, no quiet corner to be found, so plonked myself in main aisle (sorry if I got in way of any fellow MSE'ers but it was the only space large enought to sort things out). had to put back Thomas train sets (the ones in boxes where you build up a whole rail network it would seem!), wobbly toy and some other bits & pieces.
    Got:
    V-tech computer thing £50 - now £12.50
Winnie the pooh pirate megabloks £19.99 - now £5
    Books £6 - now £1.50 each
Thomas Train set in a bucket £19.99 - now £5
Snake Rocker (although looks more like a harmless caterpillar) £25 now £6.25

I was so happy with those :j . My mother also bought toys for my DS. We had big box with rocker and 4 huge bags. Walking back to the car, I remebered that I did not have a transit van afterall and needed to fit 4 people, buggy, 1 big box with rocker and 4 huge bags into Ford Focus  . With a bit of tweaking and my brother folding himself in half, we managed to fit.
Now I am sitting reading through all the bargains everyone else has got, and wish I could have got the food sets, gift sets etc. I have to keep reminding myself that I don't need those items (although I would love having them) and would rather get things for my ds.
Only because he is asleep and the fact that it is 25mins away stops me from heading back.
I am ready to admit that I am addicted to Bootsing and may now need to ban myself from the internet (remove all temptation) - but only after I check .com again...:o
  • For anyone planning on going to the Glasgow St Enoch Centre store, as of 10 minutes ago there were still loads of Ted Baker sets & laptop bags, No 7 compacts, Accessorize hat boxes, Spa gifts, and all of the alcohol/food sets.
It was quite busy but it was lunchtime and I was the only one in the queue who had a massive basket full!

  • I just got back from Cardiff Queen street branch. There are loads of toys and childrens things upstairs, They were re stocking some of the food gifts and also re stocking some of the no7 gift sets. There are loads of ted baker sets and the lynx sets with the magazine deal. Go prepared as the people were going at the sale like animals, very scary! The shelves were emptying quickly but as least they are re stocking.
