Leaving O2 moving to Lebara

Hi, please can anyone advise. My contract with O2 finishes on the 6th October, do I have to wait until the 7th October to request and apply my PAC code to leave or can I do this today?
My monthly payment to O2 is £4.79 which goes out of my bank around the 21st of the month. I just sent a message to 85075 and O2 have said early termination fee would be £2.91, am a little confused as to if I would have to pay this on top of the £4.79 if I leave today or if this would be my final payment to them. Sorry, I`m just finding it so confusing. (I have received my new Lebara sim)
Thank you

You can request your PAC today. This costs nothing and the switch only takes effect once you use the PAC.If you use the PAC today, you are ending your O2 contract 3 weeks early and the £2.91 is the line rental for these 3 weeks. It's not an extra fee.Assuming you're already paying for your Lebara service from today, then there's no advantage to delaying the switch.1

Thank you for explaining how it works, much appreciated. I had assumed I would pay O2 both amounts. Yes, Lebara took £1.20 payment yesterday.0

Don't cancel the DD - O2 will charge you but should refund any overpayment through the same DD0
