Ignore the above
Study the 8 steps in the defence template thread in announcements near the top of the forum by coupon mad you are around halfway through them ( why have you abandoned those very important 8 steps. ? )
Dont discuss the case, it's only about a possible financial settlement, not about the case itself , so can be as simple as the sentence I said in my reply below
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6635441/smart-parking-dcb-legal-court-claim-2025/p6
And
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/81850581#Comment_81850581
And do not mention the word fine, its a charge, an invoice, not a fine
The claim was never sold on, wich is why the private parking company is the claimant !
Who told you that it was sold on. ? ( its forbidden to be sold on due to their KADOE contract with the DVLA. )2 -
I have an update on this and could do with some guidance on the next steps.
After the mediation I waited near 3 months for it to be transferred to Norwich as it says on MCOL. Then I heard nothing for 4 months until now.
I recieved a letter saying that on "21 May 2026, the Judge sitting at the Court Court at Norwich, The Law Courts, Bishopgate, Norwich, NR3 1UR considered the statements of case and directions questionnaires filed and allocated the claim to the small claims track." I will then have a hearing in person on 1st October 2026.
Since the letter I have recieved an email from DCB Legal with the following below and of course some extra fluff, but I will leave the fluff out.
"We write in relation to the above matter.
Our client is prepared to make an offer to potentially conclude this matter."
This sounds all very good to me but I am unsure what stage I am at and how I should proceed? Call them to negoiate? Email them asking for a written offer?
I am guessing that I am at the end game now. Just need that last bit of advice and guidance to push this over. Thanks for any help you can give.

Ignore them, study the advice given in the 8 steps and then the advice in post 2 in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum
Read page 1 and page 2 of your court order and note the deadlines, the hearing fee deadline date and the WS deadline too
Then study the last 12 cases in the discontinuations thread by Umkomaas, which is around 912 at the moment

@SeaCarrots
"This sounds all very good to me"You are absolutely joking! 😆
Nobody offers them money!
Have you never read @Umkomaas' DCB Legal thread and don't know that they ALWAYS send that before discontinuing rather than paying the hearing fee?
Come on you are at the end. Sit tight! You will pay nothing at all and then we want to see your NoD to add to the famous thread, please!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
