Metal railings and brick - colours!

Nice. I think the dark, not-quite-black colours are good choices. Classy, won't show the occasional rust spot too glaringly, and (importantly if you're as impatient as I am) won't take 500 coats to cover the existing black paint where this it's in good enough condition to paint over it.1

A picture, to give you an idea.
Very nice indeed. The first two colours you listed are stunning, and I think you may be on to something - subtle, understated, but very classy (in a nice way).Gold balls? Nah - trying too hard. A weathered bronze? Could be nice, but - really - why bother?I'm sure you've tried standing on the road side, and walking back and forth - what is the main visual backdrop to the railings? House wall? Plants? Brickwork? I think that will determine the best shade. The purple-brown will, I think, look better against greenery, for example. How visible is the front door to the road? That Goblin is also stunning - a dark teal? - but will it 'go' with the purp-brown or the others? I find colours sooo hard to choose. But looking forward to seeing how this turns out :-)0 -
Yeah, I think any colored balls is too much effort and attention to the railings. Drawn more to the Obsidian Green at the moment, but not 100%.
Front door is fairly visible but inside a porch1
