Sorry late to things today... agree with what others have said. Ultimately difficult to tell if their automated 'you next payment' message will reflect the decision or previous award. I would say their text is not entirely true as many of us have found PIP helpline agents to be very keen, or able, to say what a decision letter coming out says. In fact in my case at last engagement it was vital because they'd sent out one in error and needed to check I had the wrong one compared to what they could see on system which was the rather more attractive correct one. But I know you have difficulties with calling... so it may be a moot point. Chances are it is a favourable decision but in terms of how long the award that's hard to know.

  • @Muttleythefrog No worries, thanks for replying.

Yeah I don't know which it is, although couldn't tell if that's where SpoonieTurtles last comment was meaning or not.

I get what you're saying about the text and knowing what happened with you maybe they would be fine with it. Glad you got you're resolved by them.

I can sometimes be more able to call, just depends on day, anxiety levels and whatnot. I find the longer I'm waiting on the phone, the more my mind stars to wander and overthink things. I'm not saying I wouldn't try if I needed to. I mean hopefully it will be a favourable/ preferred outcome. I hope.

Thanks for getting back to me anyway. I'll see what I feel like and if I can wait or whatever I will and update from there.
  • @Spoonie_Turtle That's useful information to know thank you. Would the date of the decision be the date of the text then?

Also, would that reflect in the automated system straight away though/ the figure reported on the automated call earlier is correct or if the system could be delayed as others said.ans I asked about earlier? Just wanted to make sure I'm on the same page.
I don't know, I'm afraid.  I don't even have any anecdotal experience to draw on.

Yes to the date of the text and the decision being the same.
  • Ok thanks @Spoonie_Turtle that's the only thing I can't be sure of then I guess. All I know was the figure was the same, just whether it was because it hadn't changed, or if it hasn't been updated yet on the system is the thing in not sure of.

Originally I maybe misunderstood and thought you meant it would be the same if the automated system was saying it, that would be the renewed figure (if applicable), but best work on my comprehension some more.

Anyway, thanks, I will try and wait and see. Even if I called it back next week if the letter hasn't shown up then and see if it says the same thing or not, or even stated by others to call and speak to a person if I felt up to it, despite what the text said.

When I had my review decision last year I had a text to say my review was complete. I rang to ask what the decision was and there was no payment information available to me. For me it meant the details hadn’t updated at that time.
  • Hello @poppy12345 thanks for your reply.

That's very useful thanks. How long after you got the text did you phone? Did you get through to a person on the phone and they told you your decision or did they not know either?

The same day I got the text and yes they told me the decision.
  • @poppy12345 Thanks so at least that's an option then. I will consider it as for all I know it could be still showing my previous payment info.

Update :- Sorry for a late reply. The decision arrived and the award is the same as last time so I am grateful for the support here and others who helped, and relieved on the whole, although they docked some points in a place I received them last time, though I don't understand why.

I didn't score extra points elsewhere, although the award did increase by one year so that's positive. The loss of points doesn't affect the amount, although it's still something that's worrying as I had them before.

I didn't think the affected section needed a lot, and the stress of the form had took its toll by that point, so we were just trying to get it sent off. Prompting was ticked, who helps, examples of behaviours and consequences, so not sure why it changed.

I'm glad I got what I got, and know it could be worse, just I don't know if that means anything, or if those points are gone and they are unlikely to score me them again. As it hasn't changed the award, MR would be risky but honestly I find it strange they docked points there and can't see why they had reason to do so.

Anyway thanks to everyone for all their support throughout this. It is appreciated. Thanks.

If you can't get a higher award then a MR would be pretty much futile as well as possibly risky.
If you wish, you can address this on your next review by writing something along the lines of "Nothing has changed since my last review though I do believe I should have been awarded [x] points for this activity." You can then explain the problems you have with the activity and even repeat what you think you should have got this time around. I did this last time on my PIP review when an activity for which I had previously scored 2 points was scored as 0 points. The 2 points I was previously awarded were reinstated.
