I haven't meal planned much in September. Decorating and sorting out workmen has taken up all of my physical and mental capacity! However I have managed some batch cooking so hopefully we have a good start.As someone has mentioned that there are 5 Fridays in this month I think I will go for £250.
Hopefully this will see us through. Good luck everyone.

I'm back in again, finances have taken a battering this year, and the food/groceries budget is the easiest to tackle first!
£400 for October
Will see how we get on, this is for 3 adults, one 15yo girl and her 15yo boyfriend is often here when it's mealtime, too,plus the cat, all food/groceries/toiletries/cat food.

OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £2234.63/£3000 or 74.49% of my annual spend so far (not going to be much of a Christmas at this rate as no spare after 9 months!

Going for £800 again for oct
prices are still going up and im struggling to come in on budget but really need to rein things in before Xmas.this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk5 -

October Budget for Two Pensioners, £5 a day, £155.
Meat, fish, cheese, and butter mainly from the freezer, using 1940s rationing amounts weekly. Tea, coffee and most things from the store cupboard. Eggs from the hens though they may stop laying for winter. Home made bread and cakes, jams, and kefir. We have apples stored in plastic mushroom trays in the garage which need checking regularly and any bad ones removing.4
