Compensation received

Took a year but finally received my delayed flight compensation from a turkish company. Initially offered me airmiles which were useless to me as I don't live anywhere near where the airline flies. Then offered me more airmiles or status credits, which again, were useless. Also offered me travel credit but it could only be used on their airline, not a partner, so also useless. Finally they agreed to the €600 compensation which was paid into my bank. They really make you jump through hoops to get it! Their communication was so poor, they would email requesting forms which I'd send and they would conveniently claim not to have received and then close my query so I'd have to reapply. Living in a very different time zone, I would, at their request, email and advise of my phone availability, which they then ignored and I'd wake to find they had tried calling in the middle of the night or at times I had not said I was available. Ended up visiting a ticket office at Heathrow when I was flying through there recently and was able to get it all sorted.  Original flight was >4hrs delayed. Worth the hassle even though it took ages.
