Drayton Digistat Range (RF1, RF2 or RF3). Very user friendly and easy to install.
I would second that. I fitted a Drayton RF1 in my previous house in mid 2004, it was easy to install & totally reliable. It was even still working on its original set of batteries when I moved late last year.0 -
Drayton Digistat RF1 only 1 simple temp control, but works brilliantly-DONT screw it to the wall-leave it on the coffee table near the sofa-then you can just set it as needed!0

...just don't leave it in front of the fire or right next to your mug of steaming cocoa and then wonder why the heating has gone off;)
I did actually screw ours to the wall because, going by our track record with TV remotes, it would probably have been lost down the back of the sofa or dropped into the bin & gone forever :rolleyes:0 -

Good afternoon: Drayton (and CORGIs) would disagree! http://www.invensyscontrolseurope.com/NR/rdonlyres/62143D61-E424-4685-AA09-240C570CB7ED/7837/06490056001ISSEdigistatRF3.pdf
Follow the manufacturer's instructions for best results. To the OP...have you considered a programmable room stat?...also available from Drayton...OH fits the Drayton RF2 or RF3 dependent on customer's preference or the boiler manufacturer's wireless controls if available.

Are they easy to fit the receiver to the boiler?
I'm ok with simple electrics.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
We had a new Vaillant boiler put in earlier this year, and went for the Vaillant wireless thermostat controls - a big mistake! Very sophisticated, very complicated and very fault prone. In theory you could set it to do anything at anytime on any day (even take the dog for a walk). In practice it had a big problem even talking to the boiler most of the 3 months we suffered it. Our installer tried various siting positions without any permanent success, and I finished up with the thermostat unit propped up in front of the boiler (where it worked happily maintaining the selected temperature/time profile in the laundry room!). We had Vaillant out 3 times when they replaced the control unit, the thermostat unit and something else but in the end they said they did have these sort of problems sometimes and they could offer no solution other than a refund, which we took (the boiler itself by the way is brilliant).
On our installers recommendation we now have a Danfoss remote unit which is excellent. It works in the hall (where we want the temperature control), it talks to the boiler happily, it has a wide range of setting profile options (5 day phases, 7 different days, holiday etc) with easy over ride, and an instruction booklet that you can follow. Recommended!
We've had the Vaillant 360F one for 2+ years now and had no problems at all. In fact we have it in the loft where our bedroom is and it controls our boiler faultlessly.
They do say that some houses will have interfering walls etc. so maybe that is the problem you had.BE NICE - IT'S FREE!0 -
I realise this is an old topic, but just to make you aware of a new wireless thermostat from Heatmiser.
Its a touchscreen thermostat, and the receiver can handle up to two zones of heating or 1 zone of heating and 1 zone of hot water.
Looks a pretty neat piece of kit

Does anyone have any information on the Siemans RDJ10RF/SET-GB unit. The 'quick' operating instructions have foxed myself and the installation engineer.

I also have a Vaillant one which has worked fine. The initial programming of times was a bit fiddly but ever since it has been very good. Can't give an exact model number now as i'm not at home0
