AO membership, how difficult is it to cancel?

I'm thinking of buying a washing machine from AO and since I'd be adding on all of the installation services (I'm disabled) it would be cheaper if I get their membership.

However I'm always hesitant to get a renewing membership, especially since it says you have to phone to cancel.

Has anyone got experience of cancelling an AO membership and was it straightforward?
It's easy to cancel, if you remember to do so. Its a years membership so many will presumably decide to cancel it later just in case they need to buy anything else potentially unforeseen in the next 11 months but if you forget then you end up paying a second year etc.
In my experience when you cancel then they don't give you a refund - rather you remain a member until it would be time to next renew your membership. So there is no reason to delay cancelling
More than reasonable then, I didnt enquire as most you get neither refund nor the rest of your subscription.

I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a Beer52 situation where cancellation is deliberately obstructive.
I have to say that in practice very few, including Beer52, are hard to cancel. Yes some will give you offers of reduced price if you decide to stay and you may have to click several screens of confirmation that you want to cancel etc but ultimately as long as you stick with it until they definitely state its been cancelled its then done and dusted.

Haven't had any where I have actually cancelled it and they've gone on and billed it anyway.
