AO membership, how difficult is it to cancel?

I'm thinking of buying a washing machine from AO and since I'd be adding on all of the installation services (I'm disabled) it would be cheaper if I get their membership.
However I'm always hesitant to get a renewing membership, especially since it says you have to phone to cancel.
Has anyone got experience of cancelling an AO membership and was it straightforward?

I joined them to get the members discount when buying a lot of kitchen appliances (well worth it). I made a note in my diary to call them in plenty of time to cancel. I expected a hard sell or to hang on to the phone for hours, but it was quick and painless. I told the chap I wanted to cancel as I wasn't planning on making any more purchases and he just thanked me and cancelled my membership.1

Thanks @GrahamLM52 and @MyRealNameToo! I'm pretty good at diarising cancellation days as I go on and off audible, streaming services etc. to get the best value. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a Beer52 situation where cancellation is deliberately obstructive.0

Like others I joined the membership when I changed my kitchen and buying a lot of white goods. It was great value covering delivery and disposal and taking away packaging etc and also member discounts on some items.
From memory I received an email before the membership ended, saying it was coming to an end. Once you join, you can go into you membership account there is usually an option to opt out of auto renew. I didn't cancel as such, I just didn't auto renew.1 -
Cancelled mine recently online following an email reminder it was due to renew1

Having bought it now, I'm delighted to hear it is so transparent!
I did make a good saving even on the one appliance and I also have an oven and fridge freezer that I suspect might crap out during the next year (as far as I know they're original appliances from when the house was built in 2006), so it might come in handy later.1 -
Just wanted to support what others have said: it can easily be cancelled online - see below - and after cancelling you still get the membership benefits until the end of the year.1
