7.2 - When we will provide the vehicle
During the order process we will let you know when we will provide the vehicle to you.

7.3 - We are not responsible for delays outside our control
If our supply of the vehicle is delayed by events outside our control then we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know and we will take steps to minimise the effect of the delay. Provided we do this, we will not be liable for delays caused by the event, but if there is a risk of substantial delay you may contact us to end the contract and receive a refund for the vehicle you have paid for but not received.

So are you looking at a "substantial delay" on a car you have documentation stating due for delivery by 30th September, when it's only 15th now?

    No.

So section 8 is definitely the relevant one.

8.2 outlines good reasons to cancel with full refund.
8.2.c gives "significantly delayed" as grounds for full refund, but no date.
8.2.d gives a 30 day delay "for technical reasons" as grounds for full refund. That'd be the end of October.

8.3 gives your right to cancel without one of the good reasons listed in 8.2 - they can withhold "reasonable compensation for the net costs we will incur" from the refund, and charge you if they exceed the deposit you have paid.

"They were closing in ten minutes, didn't bother to read the date on the paperwork, and I really wanted the first day of new reg" sounds like a bad case of buyer's remorse to me.

Anybody who says the deal is only good for the next 10 minutes is playing you.
If you turned up the next day and said I want that deal, I'll bet they wouldn't say no.

You can of course cancel the PCP deal or any other finance arrangement. They would just expect you to pay for your car another way.
But you haven't signed the finance contract. So it's a mute point.

What I think you meant to ask is can you cancel the car that you have ordered.
This is obviously different to the finance contract.

You have left a deposit and made an agreement to buy the car.
Their terms and conditions should be clear on this point but if you are in any doubt, contact the dealer asap.

anyone know what the rules are with cancelling a PCP agreement before car is delivered or finance is in place?

short story is I was hard sold a brand MG HS and they took 2k initial deposit 6 weeks ago but still no new car and no date when it will be here

can I cancel this deal and get my 2k back

I have not signed for the finance yet and no credit searches have taken place
If you cancel the PCP you dont get your £2k back but instead you pay the other £27,000 or whatever the price of the car is as you are now buying a car without finance.

So, do you mean you want to cancel the PCP and pay for it in full up front or do you mean you want to cancel the purchase of the vehicle?
