No blame accident: £800 premium increase.

In June I was driving down the road next to my children's school when I heard a clunk, a scrape, and saw the windscreen mirror thud onto the winscreen before skidding down the road. It came out of nowhere.
I looked behind me and a child had opened the passenger door of their parent's parked car onto my mine. I'd already partly passed them so when they opened the door it was onto the wing mirror and it had scrapped all down the driver's door, the rear door, and the rear wing.
The parent and I exchanged details, and their insurance company got into touch with me to say they would sort everything as it was the liability of their customer. The car was taken away for repair (and door replacement) and came back last week. Peace of mind at last.
This week I had an email from my insurer saying that because of this accident, they were putting my premium up by an additional £800 a year. Despite the fact I didn't have to make a claim on my own insurance and the other person (and their insurance) admitted full liability.
Has anyone had this or got any advice as to what I can do. It wasn't my fault, I didn't claim on my insurance, and now I am facing a £800 increase.
Thank you for your help.

Is that £800 increase on your £200 premium for a Nissan Micra or £5000 Bentley Turbo?
Not really much you can do, haggle, increase your excesses or go looking on the comparison sites for cheaper cover elsewhere.
You've admitted to being a participant in one of the riskiest driving activities known - the school run.

Haha It was a 64 Vauxhall Astra but it was the week I was getting rid of it to get a 59 Citroen Picasso. That's the (now second) most annoying thing: it was 1:30pm - right in the middle of nobody around time.

If you dont like the price then go elsewhere. It really is as simple as that.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.1

You aren't duty bound to stay with the same company. Find another insurance company, it may be cheaper than you paid before the claim, that's the benefit of such an open market for insurance.0

It you didn't immediately think of going somewhere else, then using a comparison site (not money super market) will probably save you a lot of money. You can also add the increase to your claim against the TP, but they probably won't give you £800. They will say look for alternatives.0
