BA Cancel booking option

My mother and I made separate BA flight bookings earlier this week. About 5 minutes after we realised we needed to change the dates so used the cancel booking option. A message came up acknowledging the booking had been cancelled and a full refund would come through in 3-5 days. The next day I was looking at flights to rebook and saw the previous flight was still showing as a tive. Just as a precaution I did the cancel booking option again. I took a screenshot of the message.
When mum and I went to rebook the new flights 3 days later we saw again the flights were still active. We contacted BA directly this time and they say their system shows no cancellation was made. Whilst I have a screenshot of the message I received my mother does not. We have logged a complaint with BA.
Would there be a digital footprint left of the activity or some kind of data tracking that could be accessed?

Possibly, it depends where the issue occurred and if at that point any data was logged which could show the issue.
Hopefully with your screenshot showing the cancellation they will get their IT teams to investigate.0 -
When you say they are still active, where do you mean? If they have been added to a calendar on your phone, you need to delete them manually. If it’s on the BA app, it’s worth also checking the website as sometimes the IT can be slow.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
