You can haggle or vote with your feet.
However with most ISPs you'll find yourself in the same position once your initial discounted period ends.1 -
You can, but don't expect a reduction.PaulDesmond said:Hi. I am with Virgin media and I am paying £42.98. I was shocked when I found out as a new person I can get the same identical package fotr only £34.99

Are you still in contract or a rolling monthly one now?Life in the slow lane0 -
No I am in contract. Not happy with service. I get buffering on the TV and my Alexa/Amazone smart speaker fails to work properly.0

You can, the agent will probably have a chuckle after you come off the phone. Before that though they will offer you a price reduction in exchange for you agreeing to a new minimum contract of a year or two.PaulDesmond said:Hi. I am with Virgin media and I am paying £42.98. Our broadband company offers the same deal to new and renewing customers but if you dont want to lock into a new minimum term contract then your rates go up when your minimum term ends.0 -
Currently out of contract but if I was to renew it would cost me moreMyRealNameToo said:

You have to ask nicely. This week I was nearing the end of a 2 year contract and was offered an extension of my offer for 12 months. I called, explained the genuinely tempting services of our local LILA Connect and got a 2 year contract, which would mean a price rise but protect the free increase in broadband speed, a price cut of 93p, to £27 and broadband speed increased to 500.0
