Not at all. I'm paying for a product. It's up to them to ensure they make a profit, not me.

If £1 debit card payments are a problem then they shouldn't allow them (unless clearing a balance).

This is quite different from a financial institution who ultimately have to give every penny charged back to you when you demand it.

I used to just do £1 payments into energy account. Nice and simple.

After £2000 of card deposits there is a 0.7% fee.
