Wet timing belts

Just had this wet belt issue with my Peugeot 3008, 55k, 2929, 1.2 Puretec. Driving home red oil pressure light, had it recovered home and after looking it up have since found out this is a huge issue. Apparently there is a special extended warranty to cover this but they are trying their best to wiggle out if it. On talking to my work colleagues there are 4 others I have found out about just in 2 days in my small office, this is a huge problem and an absolute disgrace it is allowed to happen. They should be sold with full guidance on this issue and how to avoid it.0

If you look back in this thread, there's a link to a portal that Stellantis put online last year to claim compensation or have the work done. You have to show that the car has been serviced according to the manufacturer's specifications.
That kind of demonstrates that there is nothing you can do to guarantee that you will avoid this.0 -
Some of you will know that I paid for the wet belt to be replaced on the Grandland we have on a PCP. We’d only driven around 8,000 miles when we broke down on the motorway. No idea about wet belt and the car had previously been a motability vehicle with around 40,000 miles on the clock. Yesterday I received a text from Perrys Vauxhall saying I’m being offered a considerable financial support package towards upgrading my current car. Be interesting to see if this is a legitimate text or a scam of some kind. I’ll let you know
